So, I want to give away some of my books to my awesome Twitter followers. Easy enough you say? Well, I want to do it right and fair. Not so easy. Twitter it turns out is a difficult medium for giving stuff away.
I want to make sure that:
a. Only people that WANT the book are considered. (Thus the retweet with hash tag.)
b. I want to make sure that from those people the selection is TRUELY random. (Best I can figure I will print the names and put them in a Hat. #SuperScientificFTW)
c. I want to give people the opportunity to buy the book if the REALLY want it and dont win. (See bottom of this post.)
Based on those considerations then the official Jason Tyler “App Inventor for Android” giveaway rules are as follows:
1. You must be alive and have a pulse within the past 48 hours. (Newly turned zombies should not be excluded as they have enough stress in thier life. (Well, unlife.)
2. You must be a follower of @jwtyler on Twitter. (Thats me, the author, and the MicroBlogging site I spend too much time on.)
3. You must retweet the tweet “Win a copy of my book “App Inventor for Android” Retweet with #AppInventorRocks and I’ll choose on Saturday. Rules http://bit.ly/im1BJD ” (Not the double quotes thats just silly. Oh, and only one retweet per person will be considered you hopeful cheater you.)
4. Parenthetical statements after the retweet may or may NOT receive an extra entry. (What can I say? I love the parenthesis.)
This is a non-scientific, completely flawed, very good natured and not the last contest.
Tell someone who might want a copy.
Oh, if you want to buy a copy use this link (I might get some moneys.)
